Congrats to both teams in an emotional last meet in Ashland against the Clockers as almost the entire team got a personal record to end the season with two more wins. The boys were able to secure a super-sweep (1st-7th) with Senior Captain Paul Wisnaskas leading the way followed by Gabe Dennett, Derek Bamford, Sean Wynne, Charlie Mills, Aiden Masse, and Kevin Mahoney. The girls also won convincingly with Senior Captain Bella Pietrasiewicz leading the way for the Lady Lancers followed by Shea Podbelski (2nd), Skye Goba (3rd), Brooke Dennett (4th), Kiera Dooley (6th), and Sienna Pietrasiewicz (8th)!
As you can see from the pictures below, it was an emotional meet for us Lancers. It has been a trying year, and coming into this season not having competed since February, the task was difficult. Combined with a trying summer for all of us, the outlook of all of us coming back in the normal capacity was slim. Then we found out we would not be set up in the normal TVL Small and TVL Large format and there would be no championships. This further discouraged us as we had two very strong teams poised to make a run at the Small this year. However, in light of the pandemic, and the chance to all be together again, we made our seasonal mantras: flexibility, empathy, & CARPE DIEM (and did they ever come into play over and over again as we had a tumultuous season of ups and downs, however it was all worth it to be able to come together and make some memories together and share in the spirit of our incredible seniors last seasons.
One thing is for sure, we will NEVER forget this season. Thank you to everyone who made this season happen, especially our incredible and tenacious athletes, our unwavering parents, the efforts of our athletic director, and Coach Bradley - who we all need a little more of in our lives! 💗
