Freshman Pietrasiewicz & Wisnaskas Shine in Last Duel Meet of the Season Against Medfield!

Both the girls and the boys cross country team finished out the duel meet season yesterday in winning fashion at McCarthy Park in Medfield against two solid Warrior squads. The girls ended up winning 23-32, while the boys won 21-36. Both teams end of finishing the regular season with a record of 5-2.

Freshman Bella Pietrasiewicz came in second in the meet and was the first Lancer across the line. Behind her and filling out the remainder of the varsity point scorers were Katie Bradley (3rd), Hannah Delea (5th), Sarah LaFrancois (6th), and Calie Shea (7th).

Freshman Isabella Pietrasiewicz is Norton's First Finisher
Freshman Paul Wisnaskas came in 3rd for the Lancers as he was the only Norton athlete to get a personal record on the day at the very tough "Medfield Mountain" course! Coming in first for the Lancers and second overall was Austin Carroll.  Rounding out varsity and having the top 7 make a difference in the score today was Pat Bingel (4th), DJ Nihill (5th), Ethan Tetrault (7th), James Wilson (10th), and Brandon Morabito (11th).

Boys Pull Out a 28-29 Win in a Barnburner Versus Westwood on Senior Day!

Our Amazing Seniors!
On SENIOR DAY the Norton boys team who squeaked out a very narrow win by ONE point versus a very good Westwood Wolverine team! The Westwood boys went 1-2-5 and it took a full team effort to pull it off.  The only way to win after a team goes 1-2-5 on you is to get six runners in before the other team's fourth. Norton was able to do just that! The boys went 3-4-6-7-8-9!!  Norton sophomore and #6 runner Brandon Morabito was clutch in this one out-sprinting the WW #4 runner to the line and grab 9th place by 2 seconds!  The boys will move to 4-2 on the season and only have one regular season duel meet left verses Medfield away next Wednesday at McCarthy Park.

The Lady Lancers did not fare so well. The Westwood girls team is ranked #1 in Division 4 in Massachusetts and are contenders for the All-State Meet.  It was a priveledge to run against such a great team.  Katie Bradley was once again Norton's #1 runner with Bella Pietrasiewicz coming in close behind her. The girls also move to 4-2 on the season heading into their last duel meet against the Medfield Warriors next week.
