| Girls Team Celebrating Their BIG Win! |
Outnumbered 53-16, the Norton girls cross country team defeated the reigning TVL Small Champion Dover-Sherborn Raiders today at home 23-32. Bella PietraSAVAGE won the race by almost a minute and half staying undefeated on the season and BROKE HER OWN COURSE RECORD!! Skye Goba (3rd), Emma Wisnaskas (4th), Sarah LaFrancois (5th) and Ashley Johnson (10th) rounded out the varsity scorers with near perfect races against the very tough Lady Raiders!
We could not be more proud of your efforts, coach-ability, and tenacity. I am so happy for you all! ALL of the girls and ALL of the boys got PR’s in this meet!! Your hard work has paid off!
Junior Captain Bella Pietrasiewicz was incredible as she broke her own COURSE RECORD (19:09) set last year by 3 seconds running a 19:06!
On the boys side, the returning TVL Showcase Champion DS Raiders brought their A game to Norton and defeated the Lancer boys 24-32. The Raider Boys took 1st - 3rd as the top NINE athletes (5 Norton, 4 DS) finished within 24 seconds. It was a barnburner of a race and could have gone either way. The top SIX Norton boys ran a sub 6:00 minute per mile pace! The boys are poised to finish out the season strong and have a very strong post season!
The Lancers take on the Dedham Marauders next Wednesday at 3:30 in their final home duel meet of the season on SENIOR DAY! The girls look to keep their undefeated season rolling, while the boys look to get back on track!
