Norton Defeats Holliston in Double Wins: Girls 24-33, Boys 27-28 in a Barnburner!

Congrats to both the boys and the girls cross country teams, who in their home TVL openers defeated two very tough Holliston Panther squads. 

The girls started the very hot day off by winning 24-33. In a well paced race, senior captain and school record holder Katie Bradley worked her way to the front of the pack and eventually the lead to take home the win on her home course. Following Katie for the Lady Lancers were freshman Isabella Pietrasiewicz (3rd), Calie Shea (5th), Hannah Delea (7th), Sarah Lafrancois (8th), Meg Nichols (10th), and Kaylee Annand (13th) to round out the varsity squad. Meg Nichols was able to displace as Norton's 6th runner. The girls team had TEN personal records overall! The girls move to 2-0 on the season!

The boys won a VERY tightly contested race 27-28. Junior Autin Carroll lead from the start to take home the win in 17:54 over the course of the 5K. Following Austin and rounding out varsity was senior Pat Bingel (4th), DJ Nihill (5th), Paul Wisnaskas (8th), Ethan Tetrault (9th), James Wilson (11th), and Brandon Morabito (12th). The boys team had SIXTEEN personal records overall! The boys also move to 2-0 on the season!

Both teams will compete in a double-duel meet against DOVER-SHERBORN and MEDWAY at Medway High School next Wednesday at 3:45.
