Norton Boys Beat DS in a THRILLER 25-30!!

What an unbelievable meet today!  The girls had 5/9 PR's in their race while the boys had 7/22 PR's!!  The boys race was most definitely in my top 3 XC races I have ever coached!  The boys ran with heart and did everything they could to win that meet!  I could not be more proud.
One of the best finishes of the year!!
Cam and Mason literally gave everything they had for the win (pictured post-run)!!
 Freshman Connor Johnson running strong!!

On the boys side, Billy Sullivan, Max Marcotte, and Mike Tierney did their thing running 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Norton, but it was the huge step up for Cam Eisnor (4th) and Mason Rouillard (5th) who won this meet for the Lancer boys. Only 13 seconds total was the difference with places 4th through tenth in the closest meet of the season.  Norton placed 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 8th while DS placed 1st, 4th, 6th, 9th, and 10th.  As a spectator, after the top four came in it was a tie (DS 1+4=5) (Norton 2+3=5), which brought it all down to 6th-10th who again, all finished within 11 seconds of each other!!

The top 5 Norton boys ran a sub 6:00 pace for the victory (one of our season goals!).

Congrats to the boys for tying the most wins we have ever had in cross country since joining the Tri-Valley league at 6-2 (including non-league)!  Just one more win and we will officially have the best season cross country has ever had since joining the Tri-Valley League!

On the girls side, freshman phenom Caroline Weber placed 3rd overall for the Lancers, right behind senior captain Alison Alioto with a phenomenal run.  Corrina Jurczyk was Norton's first runner and prevented DS (last year's state champs) from a perfect score.  Rounding out 4th and 5th for the Lady Lancers was senior captains Brittany Alioto and Katie D'Onofrio.

Junior and first Norton finisher Corrina Jurczyk
Senior Captain Allison Alioto sprints to the finish.
My Seniors :o)

Norton will next compete away versus Westwood next Wednesday, October 10th.
