Norton Boys Win Both in Non-League Tri-Meet Versus West Bridgewater and Abington; Girls Split

Congrats to the Norton boys who beat both West Bridgewater (25-31) and Abington (17-43) in their first and only non-league tri-meet of the season.  The boys move to  4-1 on the season with their two wins in West Bridgewater.  The boys meet versus West Bridgewater was very close as Petti from West Bridgewater held a 5:20 pace over the 2.9 mile course and won the race.  However, Norton had plans to foil them as their training paid off this week with the top 4 boys running a sub-6:00 per mile pace.  Billy Sullivan ran a 5:37 pace for second overall while teammate Max Marcotte was right behind him with a 5:39 pace.  Mike Tierney (5:54) and Mason Rouillard (5:59) placed third and fourth for the Lancers placing 5th and 6th respectively.  Rounding out the top 5 for the boys was Cam Eisnor.

The girls got their second win of the season routing Abington 15-50.  Norton got their top 5 girls in before the first Abington could get their first girl to the finish.  Senior Captain Allison Alioto ran a great race placing second overall placing not to far behind Norton's top girl Corrina Jurczyk. Brittany Alioto, freshman Caroline Weber, and Katie D'Onofrio placed 3rd through 5th for the Lady Lancers.  Unfortunately, the West Bridgewater girls were too tough for the Lancers, winning 17-44.

Norton will next compete against TVL foe Medfield this Monday at home at 3:30!

Mason Rouillard and Cam Eisnor rolled out the top 5 for the boys.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back athletes, parents, and fans!  What a year for Norton last year!  The Norton Lancer boys spring track team took home their first ever Tri-Valley League title.  Congrats to those boys!  That was a lot of hard work for many years to get to that point.  Where does it start though? With the cross country team in the fall setting the stage for the distance team that runs year round into winter track and then spring.

The Norton cross country team has already had its share of challenges in the pre-season with no locker rooms.  With the high school renovation going on, they girls and boys have to get creative with their training.  Also, the team was forced to come up with a new course this year that will now start behind the high school and will be a hybrid of the last two courses Norton has had. Attached is the new course that will be 2.59 miles in length. (Thank you to the captains and artist Eric Sanford for their help with the course).

Both teams are eager to start the regular season and we all are very excited for another great season.  Keep checking back to the site after meets for updates scores.  Thanks to everyone who is a part of Norton cross country and track and field for all of your support!
