A CLOSE Win and a CLOSE Loss In Norton's Last Regular Season Matchup VS Medway
The Norton girls pulled out a VERY close win against Medway yesterday beating them 28-29. It came down to the last 400 meters of the race and the Norton girls took 2nd, 5th-8th and a very gutsy performance from Laura Carlson and Becca Sargent to displace Medway's fifth runner.
The boys took a tough loss by one place with the score being 28-27 Medway. Billy Sullivan and Mason Rouillard took 1st and 2nd place overall and edged out Medway's top runner by a half of a second. Mason Rouillard got a PR on the day running a 5:41 pace. Other PR's on the day were Eric Sanford, Josh Kelleher, and Nathan DiOrio.
A special mention goes out to Troy Parker who placed for varsity today as well. Congrats on earning a varsity letter Troy!

Norton Boys Beat Holliston for the 2nd Time in History!
The Norton boys XC team had a fantastic meet against close-ranked Holliston today beating them 17-40. Norton's Billy Sullivan took charge and won it for the Lancers with a 5:42 pace per mile over the 2.85 mile course. Close behind Billy were teammates Max Marcotte (5:45 pace) and Mason Rouillard (5:46 pace) in second and third. The boys had 5 boys place in the top six!
This was only the second time in Norton's history they have beat Holliston in the Tri-Valley League! Congrats boys on a great run today!

Norton Trounces Randolph in Non-League Matchup!
The division 5 Norton girls and boys cross country teams beat division 4 Randolph in easy fashion today. The girls won 15-45 and the boys won 15-50. The girls placed the top 6 and the boys placed the first 17 before letting any Randolph runners come in.
Jess Greco, once again, was 1st for Norton with a PR 7:06 pace (20:34 for 2.9 miles) and worked with captain Stacie Linfield, who was close behind her by the finish. The girls team had 8 personal records on the day!
Max Marcotte was back to his winning ways barely beating Billy Sullivan at the line by one second to take the overall spot. Both Norton athletes ran a blistering 5:32 pace over the 2.9 mile course for new personal records. Twenty two boys ran personal records today, while six boys ran a sub-six minute per mile pace.

Westwood Handles Norton
The Norton boys & girls XC teams took another loss in Westwood on Wednesday. The girls lost 48-15 and their varsity team was broken up once again by Norton's lead runner Jess Greco in 6th place. The boys lost 35-19 taking places 5-8, and tenth. Sophomore Billy Sullivan led for Norton with a 5:57 pace per mile over the 2.9 mile course.
PR's (personal records) on the day for Norton included: Marissa Eisnor, Noah Beauchamp, Austin Cheda, Evan DaSilva, Josh Kelleher, John Munger, Troy Parker, Ben Skotny, Mike Tierney, Caleb Tripp, & Dalton Weir.
