Norton XC Starts Tri-Valley League Competition in Opener at Medway with the Girls Winning 20-35 and the Boys 21-40!

Congrats to the Norton High girls and boys cross country teams who defeated Medway in convincing fashion yesterday.  The girls (2-0) placed 1-3-4-5-7 lead by freshman Katie Bradley and finished with the largest margin of victory over Medway ever: 20-35!

The boys (2-0) also brought home the victory for the Lancers defeating Medway 21-40.  Senior Captain Mike Tierney was 2nd overall in the race and was the first Norton finisher, followed closely by Junior Chris Wrenn and Sophomore Joey Annand.

Sarah Anderson places 3rd overall for the Lancers 

Senior Captain Mike Tierney places 1st for the Lancers with a 5:39 mile pace! 

Junior Chris Wrenn places 2nd for the Lancers

Sophomore Joey Annand places 3rd for the Lancers

The boys had 4 athletes at a sub 6:00 minute per mile pace and one at 6:01 pace over the 2.7 mile course.

7th Overall - Mike Travers

4th Overall - Sarah Anderson 

5th Overall - Caroline Weber 

7th Overall - Kambrynn Bowman 

Norton comes home next Wednesday, the 17th, for their home opener versus the tough TVL rival the Dover-Sherborn Raiders.
